Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer Hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. So the transfer is a two-bike platform style bike rack. It's gonna make primary contact with our bike right here on the front wheel with this wheel hook with an additional point on the back so there's no frame contact. In the event that you wanted to transport your carbon frame bikes, you could do that if you have a really aggressive alternative style frame bike you could also use that. So that's nice that it has that feature and it is capable of supporting up to 60 pounds. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro and how it fits on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. The Hitching Post Pro is a four bike hanging style bike rack. It's going to hold our bike primarily by the frame using these two cradles and the anti-sway cradle right here. Because it does make primary contact by the frame, we don't recommend using this bike rack with something like a carbon frame bike because it could potentially damage that while it's driving. Additionally, if you have a woman's alternative or any sort of kid's bike, you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make that work. more

Swagman XC2 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XC2 on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. The XC2 is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds each held primarily on the frame by these frame hooks. So, if you do have a carbon frame bike we would recommend not using a bike rack like this, 'cause it does have the potential to damage the frame while you're driving. This is a pretty entry level bike rack so it doesn't have some of the features that some more premium might offer like the ability to tilt away with the bike loaded. So, if we wanna get into the hatch of our vehicle we are gonna have to get the bike off. more

Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey its Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two-bike rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. It is a two-bike platform style bike rack that's gonna make primary contact on our frame here using these paddock frame hooks And because it does put that pressure down on our frame. We don't recommend using carbon frame bikes with these just cause it could potentially be damaged while you're driving. It's one of the more entry level bikes that have a couple of features like tilting it away and folding it up and it still offers that weight capacity of 45 pounds, which is nice. Two tilted away, you have to reach back here to this lever so if you do have both bikes loaded up it might be a little bit tricky to get to, but you released that the bike rack tilts and we found that we get plenty of clearance to get into the back of our vehicle From there. more

Kuat Piston Pro X 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro Hitch Bike Rack how it fits on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. Like I mentioned it is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting up to 67 pounds per bike using this dual wheel mount design with the pistons that we'll get into once we unload our bike. So that's gonna be something that sets this bike rack apart. Because it doesn't make any frame contact, if you do want to transport some bikes that might have carbon frames, might have weird alternative frames or maybe you have some e-bikes that have some kind of fenders on them or just a really nice paint job that you don't want to damage, it's gonna be a really nice way to get them where you need to go. One of the other main features that this bike does offer is the ability for it to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike rack and how it fits on our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. It is a four bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting 35 pounds per bike. We're gonna hold onto our bikes primarily by these rotated padded clamps on the center mast and two straps down at the bottom. Because it does use these padded clamps on the frame, you're not gonna want to use this bike rack with something like a carbon frame bike cause it could potentially take some damage to the frame while you're driving. It should work okay for most alternative frame bikes but you might have to get a little bit creative. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination and how it fits on a 2023 GMC Yukon XL. Now the Destination is going to be a two-bike platform-style bike rack, capable of supporting up to 35 pounds per bike, and we're gonna hold onto our bike primarily from the frame here using these padded clamps. Now these padded clamps do have the ability to rotate a full 360 degrees so they can accommodate a variety of different styles of bikes. But if you're using a carbon frame bike, we don't recommend using these types of racks because they will make frame contact. You could potentially damage the frame while you're driving. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 GMC Yukon XL- Video
John: Hey guys. John here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2020 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks TRS two bike platform rack for e-bikes. This is designed to fit a two inch trailer hitch receiver and the one of the features I'd like to start off pointing out is it does have a tilt away feature.To do this you'll pull the safety pin here and there's a quick release pin you will also need to pull which allows us to tilt the bike rack away. I would like to point out that the bike rack sits close enough to the Yukon that with a standard bike size like this, it'll clear the pedal when you have the pedal down, but it will come in contact with the handle.You might be able to fit a smaller bike on here and be able to open up the rear hatch without making any contact, but it's really going to depend on the size of your bike.Go ahead and lift the bike back into the towing position. You'll notice here our bike is secured at three points of contact, two ratchet straps on the wheels and then one ratchet strap up here on the tire.To remove the bike, we'll start off by releasing the ratchet straps on the wheels and then we'll press this lever in to release the tension on the ratcheting arm. more

This is designed for one and a quarter inch and two inch hitches and it's a great way to carry four bikes on the back of your Yukon. This not only frees up room inside your Yukon to fit more cargo or passengers, but it means you're not going to be cramming the bikes into the back of your vehicle.So take a closer look here, you can see our bike is secured at three different points. Two ratchet straps on top, and then one here with the anti sway cradle. John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com, and today on our 2020 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Rack. This is designed for two inch by two inch trailer hitches and it'll hold up to four bikes, weighing 35 pounds each. This is a great option for getting up to four bikes to your destination without having to toss them up on top of your Yukon XL, or trying to fit them into the rear cargo area.Our bike here is going to be secured at three locations. There's a ratcheting strap on the rear wheel, on the middle post frame and the front wheel. To remove our bike, we'll simply press the lever here, to remove the ratcheting strap. I recommend removing the straps for the wheels first, that way you can use one hand to remove the strap for the middle rack. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Hanging Style Four-Bike Rack, Part No. TH9029XT. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled, the cradle arms out, and a bike in place on your vehicle. Let's start off by getting our shortest distance measurements here. Our closest distance is going to be about 3-3/4 inches to the front side here. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the back side of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms at about 38 inches, and our ground clearance is going to be about 20 inches. All right, let's talk about how the bike is secured to our rack. We're going to have two straps coming over the top, as well as one around the side. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 GMC Yukon XL TH9031XT- Video
Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be doing a test if of the Thule Vertex Swing Hanging-Style Four-Bike Rack with the Swing-Away Option, part number TH9031XT. It does come with a two-inch shank for your two-inch receivers only. We'll start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement is going to be from the T handle on the front side here to the back side of the bumper, about six and a half inches. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle, from the rear of the bumper, to the back side of the cradle arms, is going to be about 39 inches. Our ground clearance from the bottom side of the platform will be about 19 and a half inches. Now, moving up to the front, we'll talk about that swing-out option. more

Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be doing a test fit of part number N105-107, the Kuat NV platform-style four-bike rack. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully-assembled and a bike on it, on the back of your vehicle. Today on our 2015 GMC Yukon XL, we will be doing a test fit of the Thule Easy Fold 2. This is going to be your platform-style, 2-bike rack, specifically designed for your e-bikes. It has 132 pound weight capacity, capable of carrying a 66 pound bike on each side with ease. It has a sturdy construction. This will be part number TH9032. As you can see, we've already got it up here with a road bike on it, and installed on the vehicle so you can see how it looks and fits. We're going to give a few measurements first, and then we're going to go through the break down process, because it would be the same, just inverted, to put it on. Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2014 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero, a tilting 2 bike rack for inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitches, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. As we do this, we're going to hold on to the black attached pin. We'll line up our pin holes, allow the attached pin to fall into the pin hole. We'll then tighten the black knob. This is going to engage our anti-rattle device and further secure the rack to our vehicle. In this position, we have about 22 1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. more

SportRack 3 Bike Rack Review - 2014 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2014 GMCC Yukon XL, we're going to be test fitting the Sportrack tilting 3-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SR2403. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it using the provided clip. In this position, we have about 20-1/2" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 5" away, and overall, we've added about 13-1/2" to the length of the Yukon. Pulling the black pin and clip at the base of the mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see, this gives us great access into our cargo area. With our mast back in it's upright position, and pin reinserted, we'll now pull the pin and clip at the top of the mast. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2014 GMC Yukon XL we're going to be test fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SR26247. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it using the provided lock. In this position we have about 21-1/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Yukon's about 7" away and overall we've added about 39" to the length of our SUV. A great feature of the Dura Parallelogram is the removable cradle arms. To remove the arms we'll simply push over on the small black tabs located on the front of the rack and slide them out of the rear. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2014 GMC Yukon XL we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Rack's Traveler Tow-N-Go, a three bike rack for two inch ball mounts, part number HR135. For today's test fit we've mounted the Traveler on a Hidden Hitch Extra Long Shank Ball Mount, part number 80232. It is sold separately. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, slide through a pin, and secure it with a clip. As you can see this does leave a lot of play in our bike rack. We have anti-rattle devices available on our website. more

Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today, on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL, we'll be testing the Kuat Sherpa Aluminun Hitch Mounted Two-Bike Carrier with Wheel Mount Cradles, part number S102. Using the included two inch adapter, well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch. Line up the hitch pin hole and insert our hitch pin. Well then move to the back of the shank, we will turn the knob tightening down the anti-rattle device, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and go over a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack with the platform in the stored position, measures 23 inches. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our two-thousand-thirteen GMC Yukon XL well be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike carrier, part number y02420. To begin our test set well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. Line up our pin holes and thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin hole and tighten with a wrench. Now we can go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. We have about twenty-two and a half inches of ground clearance and the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is four inches. With the platform in its folded position weve added about fourteen inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Well now go ahead and pull the red know on the left hand side of the carrier to tilt the platform down. Now with the platform down this will allow some access to our cargo area. With the platform unfolded weve added about thirty-four inches of additional length to the rear of our vehicle. To load the bike well unfold the mast by pulling the red knob at the base, well raise the frame hooks to the top of the mast and undo the cradle strap. more

Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today, on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL, well be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace Four-Bike Carrier, part number Y02451. To begin our test fit, well start of by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up the pin holes, insert the pin with the red knob into the pin holes and turn the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now, that the Yakima DoubleDown is secured to our GMC Yukon, well go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. There is about 22-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about six inches. With the cradle arms folded down, weve added about 11-1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today, on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL, well be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Two Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 inch and two inch hitches, part number TH990XT. Now, to begin our test fit, well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch. Line up the pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex four bike carrier, part number TH9029. To install the carrier we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our bike rack is secure to our vehicle. At this point we'll go over a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 23 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle measures 4 inches. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL we'll be test fitting the Thule hitching post bike carrier, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit we'll simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch and line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt tight out bike is secured to the vehicle. Now we can go ahead and go over a few measurements. Our ground clearance of the bike rack is 23 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7 inches. more

Well line up our pin holes and insert the spring-loaded pin into the pin hole, and turn the black knob located on the shank of the carrier to engage our anti-rattle device. Now well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle come together. There is about 23 inches of ground clearance, and the closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 2 inches. With the cradle arms folded down weve added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL, we'll be test fitting part number S63410, the Swagman Titan 4-bike carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL well be test fitting the Softride Dura parallelogram tilting bike carrier, part number SR26247. To mount our carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle locking bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. Then well fit the lock over the end. Next well go over a couple of clearance measurements. Weve got about 23 inches of ground clearance, four and a half inches of clearance between the closest part of the carrier and the closest part of the vehicle and weve added about 37 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle.Now were ready to load up our bikes. more

Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Rack traveler five bike carrier, part number HR9200. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes and then thread our anti-rattle bolt through our pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Now we'll go ahead and go over a handful of clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle come together. We have about 23 inches of ground clearance. We've added about 14 inches to the overall length of the vehicle when the cradle arms are folded down. To access the cargo area we'll pull the pin located at the base of the carrier and tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Rack Traveler four bike carrier, part number HR8500. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten them down with the wrench. Now with the carrier secure to the vehicle we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. We have about 23 inches of ground clearance. With the cradle arms folded down we've added about 12 inches tot he overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area we'll pull the pin at the base of the carrier and tilt the mast down this will allow us to have access to our cargo door. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Today on our 2013 GMC Yukon XL we'll be test fitting the Kuat aluminum hitch mounted two bike rack with wheel mount cradles. This is a Kuat NV, part number N101. To begin our test fit we'll slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes and slide the hitch pin in. We'll then move to the back of the shank and tighten the anti-rattle knob, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. With that done we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 23 inches. more
